How can i remobe black background from subtitles on iphone ?

I have video with a track element for subtitles in .vtt format. How can I remove the black background behind the subtitles on iOS/iPhone ? I can't remove it only from iphone, cause video plays within iphone's native player.

I have tried to remove it by following instructions written here https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1482067-styling-captions-for-fcc-compliance but it is affecting only on subtitles outside of player. You can see that black background here http://test.teenvoice.co/dating/the-casual-date/ (it is demo link)

Thanks in advance.

Hi, there.

Since the captions are rendered by iOS’ media player, there’s little control we have over them, especially the appearance. We support formatting captions in VTT and SRT files, as you know, but they do not carry over to the iPhone.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!

@contact - I see that you've previously used the "jwioscaptions" plugin built by Haiku, but it is currently commented out.

The latest version of this plugin ensures the JW caption styling is carried across to the native captions too - check out the demo here:

Thanks for paying my attention to that plugin which I commented in my code. I commented it cause couldn't see any difference when using it. But now I see and my subtitles are without that black background. I changed windowColor to white and also opacity value to 0. And it is FINE!

That plugin was updated yesterday ?
