Wowza + HLS + JWPlayer 7.2.3 = Buffering/Stuttering

Hello,

I am having some buffering/stuttering issues with the above combination (wowza + HLS + jwplayer). You can see it in action here:

Is there anyone who can offer some assistance? We have a very up-to-date Wowza machine and an up-to-date JWPlayer. We are using the Apple HLS streaming protocol and it works just fine on an iOS device. But try it using Chrome (desktop browser) and it is very choppy after a few seconds into the video.

Any suggestions?

I wasn’t able to replicate the stuttering on Google Chrome 47.0.2526.106 (64-bit) on a Mac Yosemite 10.10.5. Which operating system and version of Chrome are you using?

I am using Google Chrome Version 47.0.2526.106 m (64-bit) on a Windows 7 Dell (dual-processor).

Hello Steven,

This is Randy from the Support team. I have tried your stream in Windows 7 running Chrome/IE8 and Windows 10 with Chrome/Edge and see no stutter or sluggish playback. Do you notice any abnormal feedback or playback errors in the console or network tabs of the browser?

I see the stuttering/buffering issue that you mention on my PC too after about 14 seconds - no errors in console. I'm running Windows 7 with Chrome 49 and a 100Mbit internet connection.
It looks like it's buffering very slowly.

If you try the link in a browser such as Safari does that work for you: http://vps.sermonaudio.com/video/1219152348570/playlist.m3u8?saemailaddr=| . It should play as expected since Safari will play the stream natively.
