Youtube embed code on IOS(Iphone 6) wont exit fullscreen when video is finished playing.

Hi guys,

I hope you can help me on this issue, this can also be seen on JWplayer youtubed embed code sample:
http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1406725-youtube-video-embed

When you try to load the page above on Iphones 6 then play the video which is a youtube video, notice the fullscreen video player wont exit to go back to the page once its finished playing.

I wonder if there is a workaround on this issue, hopefully someone have figured this out as Im been trying to use other jquery and webkits stuff but none of them works.

Hi,

My name is Daniel and I am a Support Engineer here at JW Player. I would be happy to answer your question. Can you please tell me if you are using our Web Player or our mobile SDK?

My thinking as to why that is happening is related to the onComplete handler.

Thank you,
Daniel

Please review this link with a code snippet to exit full screen onComplete:

Hey Daniel,

It still wont exit, basically I've added the completeHandler() function on the onComplete event. It still wont exit on Iphones fullscreen video.

Thanks,

Hi,

I believe the issue is due to the full screen. When users launch a video into full screen they are actually using Apple’s video player not the JW Player. That is why the buttons look a little different. I know that there was an Apple bug report on this issue. Can you please confirm that you are running on the latest OS?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,
Daniel

Im using OS 8.3, though I tried the latest OS it seem this issue still exists. Just to clarify, the issue occurs only when video is a youtube video.

Can you please update your OS to 10? I believe that Apple addressed this issue in El Capitan. Here is a link to update to El Capitan:

Please let me know if you are still experiencing this issue.

Thank you,
Daniel
