I currently use jw6 with personalized multi colored icons (play/pause/full screen etc) derived from scanned images.
Is it possible to construct multi colored personalized icons for jw7 using icomoon?
Could this be achieved by 'layering' an icon with different layers of color?
I find the single color icomoon icons 'flat' in appearance and dull.
Is there some other technique?

Yes, I've been using that article and for single colored variants it works very well.
The issue is to figure out how to replicate the multi-colored controls possible using jw6.
That's more complex than the options available in the support document.
I can carry on experimenting but it takes time.
Any suggestions? Maybe there's a simple css solution?

If you’re using JW 6, the only information I can give you is our guide on building skins for JW 6. Our customization of skins in JW 6 is not nearly as open as it became in JW 7, since we went from using XML in JW 6 to 100% CSS in JW 7.
