configuring twitter and facebook sharing buttons
hello there
I'm trying to open the new pages as pop-up's rather than a new page when sharing buttons for twitter and facebook is clicked
Is it possible?

Hi, there.
We do not have a lot of control in our player on how the resulting page looks when sharing content. We pass along the relevant information to the social network and they open a page on their site with the content. You wouldn’t be able to make that appear in a pop-up or a modal, unfortunately.

so that means I also can't modify the link that I'm sending
for example I can't add a 'via=sample_text' parameter for twitter which renders a @sample_text at the end of the sharing content

Hi, there.
There is no built-in functionality to allow what you are looking for with our current integration of Twitter. However, there may be a way to do this in our upcoming release of JW Player 7.2.0, which is tentatively scheduled for release on November 11, but that is subject to change.
Please take a look at our Social Sharing Overlay support article. If you scroll down on the page, you will see that we are drastically changing our social sharing plugin in 7.2.0. Included in that is the ability to add custom sites to share to. I would recommend trying to not enable our built-in Twitter integration and create a custom one, using whatever link syntax or JavaScript that Twitter advises you to.
