JWplayer as background?

Hi all!

What I want to do is have video, full screen, as the background of the web page.
Then have content like the header, left and right sidebar, on top. These bits of content will then fade/slide away when the mouse is not over them. They will also be transparent so users can still see most of the video.

Is there a way I can do it with using CSS or would it be best to make/use a plugin for this?

Thanks!

HI Jack,

Sounds cool! Either one. Sounds like you could accomplish the effect entirely with CSS so I would probably just add an external stylesheet that targets the elements of the player. However, if you’d rather dynamically build element overlays with CSS, I would recommend creating a plugin.

Documentation on creating plugins can be found here: https://github.com/jwplayer/jwplayer-sdks
Info on building stylesheets/custom skins for the player can be found here: http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1412123-building-jw-player-skins

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Best,
Carolyn
