Due to media player not working in playing .wmv files across browsers, I'm trying to get JW Player embedded on my web page to work, I has a test page here - http://www.chatteris.biz/video.php
The location of the video file JW Player is pointed - http://www.chatteris.biz/WDL/videolastday.mp4, the other version of this file is on the server, just change the file extension from .mp4 to .wmv to run it
Any help would be much appreciated.

How did you create the MP4 version of your file? It doesn't appear to be a valid MP4 format.
You'll need to ensure that this file is correctly converted/encoded to an MP4 format using a tool such as Handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/) - FYI: you can't simply change the file extension from wmv to mp4 and expect that to work.

Thanks for replying, the software I'm using is called Weather Display and within the web cam save options I changed this from .wmv to .mp4, and continued to upload time lapse video, if .mp4 is not in a valid format I'll ask on the WD forums as the issue is not with JW Player.
The changing of the file extension was included in my post earlier as I have saved both file types to show what is expected when it works if that makes sense :-)

Whilst MP4 is the ideal file format for video files of this nature, they do need to be encoded using the specific H.264 video and AAC audio codecs.
I suspect your files are not encoded this way by default and are therefore causing the problem.
You can check this out yourself by going to:
http://demo.jwplayer.com/stream-tester/
and entering the link to your file (http://www.chatteris.biz/WDL/videolastday.mp4) in the stream to load box.
You will see it error.
Then, if you load this file link - http://dev.powered-by-haiku.co.uk/debug/chatteris/videolastday.mp4 - you will see it load.
The difference is that I've taken your original file and encoded it to H.264 using the Handbrake tool.
So, going forward, you'll either need to explore what save options you have directly from the web cam (in order to create properly encoded files), or you'll need to re-encode them as an additional step before using them on your web page.

As James as stated, the issue appears to be with how the MP4 is encoded and re-encoding it with Handbrake will resolve your issue. I would contact the team at Weather Display to see if there is a way to get a better encoded MP4 file. Otherwise, you will have to re-encode each file before using it with JW Player.
