Adaptive Bitrate HLS - Video Skips when switching bitrate (auto).

Has anyone seen this happen? How do I fix it? I am was looking at JW player sample and it's a smooth transition from one bit rate to another.

Is it the player or the HLS file created?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Typically running the HLS stream through a stream tester will give you an idea of playback performance. The following links may be useful in determining whether the stream is functional: http://demo.jwplayer.com/stream-tester/ .

Hello,

This goes back to my original questions.

"How do I fix it?"
"Is it the player or the HLS file created?"

The HLS file I have plays ok. My problem is when it switches to another bitrate, I want it to be seamless.

I'm sorry but what you wrote did not help at all, nor answered anything.

Hello JW PLAYER Support Team,

Can anyone else shine some light into this issue please?
I've made different versions of the HLS and it still doesn't have a smooth transition from one quality to the next.

Thank you.

**FIXED**

Hello to whoever needs help with this issues,

The solution are a few things.

Key-framing has to be consistent, from your LOW to HIGH settings.
Bitrate gap can't be too great from one another.

Done.
