Audio Thumbnail Does Not Display in Mixed Playlist

I recently upgraded JW Player from version 5 to 7. With each version it seems some features are taken away.

The one issue I can't seem to find a fix for deals with the fact that I have a playlist with a mix of audio and video items. With JW Player 5 & 6, when an audio file would play, the video portion of the player would just show the thumbnail image. With JW Player, this feature seems to no longer be working. However, when I refresh a page after playing an audio file, the thumbnail image shows up in the video window for a split second.

Is there a fix for this?

Here is a comparison of players I have, so you can see the functionality I'm trying to get working in JW Player 7.

One thing you can try is removing the comma after the visual playlist line. you only need a comma if there is another option after it. I would also try changing visual playlist to true. Also try changing the primary player to html5 and see if that fixes the issue.

This is indeed a known issue that will be fixed in our next version. The poster image will remain visible for audio playback.

I have the same issue except I run an audio-only jukebox separate from movies and videos. Video runs in it's own player instance and works fine.

Will the next version be a maintenance rebuilt (e.g. 7.0.2)? Any projected release date?

No specific release date just yet. We’re aiming for the next 2 weeks.

Andrew, it appears a fix may have been issued, but now the opposite problem happens. After playing an audio playlist item and swapping back to a YouTube video, now the YouTube thumbnail appears and I can hear audio, but the video does not play.
