Hi, I'm using vimeo HLS and jw player premium. I've embeded my videos to my wordpress web,but they can't be played in windows pc. I thought there's something wrong with HLS link but the weird thing is they play very well on ios, android mobile and tablet pc. I don't know what is going on. Please check this out. Thank you
It sounds like your Vimeo HLS stream is playing on devices with native support for HLS playback. Please check the CORS header for your streams, as this may be blocking our player’s ability to load your streams on desktop browsers. See http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403679-crossdomain-file-loading for more details.
Hi, I set just like on the link you gave to me. Last time, I've tried the exact same setting but still my video cannot play. Can you pleae help me? I really need your help.
I’m seeing quite a few 404 errors on your first player on this page. For example:
https://player.vimeo.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/2113/5/135566189/401146735.m3u8?token=1439425348_0xf08ee28fa63ffe5b17ac28afd78f1aad424af1f7
It appears as though there may be 302 redirects being used here, which are unfortunately not supported with our Flash plugin unless you use direct links in your manifest file. The second player on the page does seem to be working, however. Is this a setting that can be configured on Vimeo’s side of things?
Hi The two videos setting is same in vimeo. The difference is the one can play is acamai server and the other one that cannot play is vimeocdn server and it has token number included. I think this has some connection of playing problem.
I've tested few things. A and B are the same videos but different date of upload.
A (uploaded this month): https://player.vimeo.com/external/136176769.m3u8?p=high,standard,mobile&s=f0da8a2a878c8ba9d11c97ef0617bcda https://s.vimeocdn.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/2235/5/136176769/403412279.m3u8?token=1439573384_0x3e6e3ca6b7c744a8baca7d7821feb233d5cd2722 https://s.vimeocdn.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/2235/5/136176769/403412284.m3u8?token=1439573384_0x64040baebec88b7eb0ad523bb4d352dc06578319 https://s.vimeocdn.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/2235/5/136176769/403412267.m3u8?token=1439573384_0xe5141e0a26d86ee76b00e5df273b143212894062 https://s.vimeocdn.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/2235/5/136176769/403412296.m3u8?token=1439573384_0x8f57971cc0249563847e10847a4372b6974abd61
B (uploaded long time ago): https://player.vimeo.com/external/134915108.m3u8?p=high,standard,mobile&s=c654f17d2ea3f81f19c4405bde617d59 https://av00vimeo-i.akamaihd.net/i/,27013/791/398570873,96850/415/398570863,72302/944/398570875,.mp4.csmil/index_0_av.m3u8 ttps://av00vimeo-i.akamaihd.net/i/,27013/791/398570873,96850/415/398570863,72302/944/398570875,.mp4.csmil/index_1_av.m3u8 https://av00vimeo-i.akamaihd.net/i/,27013/791/398570873,96850/415/398570863,72302/944/398570875,.mp4.csmil/index_2_av.m3u8
A: This link cannot play with jwplayer. It has all files of different resolutions and all of them play well with jw. Videos uploaded in vimeo this month have same url.
B: This link can play with jw. It also has different resolution's links and they play well with jw.
The problem is all of videos that were uploaded this month to Vimeo have changed from akamai to vimeo cdn and also m3u8's structure has changed as well. i think jw doesn't recognize how A link changed. Hope to check it out. Thanks
There is a related thread on the Vimeo forums (https://vimeo.com/forums/help/topic:274494). The final response from Vimeo support team on this matter is as follows:

Hi there,
Thank you for reporting this issue. Our engineers are aware that some recent, necessary changes (switching to relative URLs for our HLS playlists) are not correctly supported by several third-party players. This isn’t something we can resolve on our end, however, we are reaching out to these developers and offering assistance in getting the issue fixed. You may also wish to contact your player’s support services and encourage them to work on compatibility with Vimeo.
I apologize that I can’t offer a more immediate solution. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Sincerely, Zena H

So... are there plans to update JW Player to support relative HLS URLs? If not we're going to need to look at an alternative third party player... :/
My apologies for the amount of time you have been waiting on this. I’ve reached out to our Engineers for an update and they have told me that this issue will not be resolved until we switch over to HTML5 playback of HLS streams, which is on the roadmap for sometime in Q1 of 2016. The reason for this is because the HLS stream you are providing utilizes 302 redirects and Flash Player does not support them for security reasons.
Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.
