Flash Mode in Firefox - Mouse Over event slows down video

Hi,

We have clients that are reporting issue in Firefox when using Jw Player in Flash mode and moving mouse over the player area. This is not happening in Chrome and IE.

Also, when we tried the same video with Flowplayer and it works. Firefox version is 39 and Flash Player version is 18.0.0.209.

Do you have any idea what could be the issue?

Thanks.

I'm not seeing any problems when mousing over the player frame - no slowdowns or other artifacts.

Somewhat off-topic, but since this isn't a live stream, why are you using RTMP in the first place? Why not just convert the videos to MP4, and serve them up with HTTP?

We are doing RTMP for Desktops and HLS/RTSP on mobile devices because of security.

Also, if using Http Progressive Download the whole content is downloaded to clients machine whether or not user previews the whole content.

Thanks.

Security? Yes, I've heard there's a huge market for bootlegs of these kinds of videos.

Just kidding. But I'm still not seeing any problem on mouseover - same FF and Flash version you're using. Anyone else?

Thanks.
