Image Overlay not displaying when playing video full screen on iOS devices

We are using the the image: setting to overlay a logo on our videos, and everything is working fine on desktop browsers and Android devices when videos are played either in-line or full-screen.

It also works fine on videos played in-line on the iPad. But when videos are played on iOS devices full screen the there is no logo overlay.

Is this a known bug? If so is it going to be fixed? And if not, is there any way to get around this problem?

iOS automatically sets all videos to be fullscreen on all devices except for iPads. When the video goes to fullscreen, iOS does not allow overlays. This means our player is not able to display logos, captions, etc. I am not personally aware of any workarounds, and we would need Apple to make a change to resolve this.
