
Videos buffering for many of our users
We recently switched to hosting all our videos on the JW platform and use the JW player for playback.
Many users (about a third) are complaining that the videos buffer terribly.
These users are typically on strong Internet connections (+10Mbps) and have tried multiple browsers on multiple devices.
Reports indicate that choosing the lowest stream (i.e. 180p) results in about 5 seconds playback before buffering. It then gets incrementally worse with higher quality streams or using the 'auto' setting.
Our videos are served on https://www.arttutor.com/ and one user has reported that with Internet Explorer the message 'only secure content is displayed' is shown and the video player doesn't appear until 'show all content' is chosen. I don't know if this indicates a possible cause?
I'm not the developer who integrated JW players on to our site but it would help if I knew the right questions to ask him, so that I can provide that information here.
