Adding captions to HLS ( M3u8 ) CEA-608

Hi,

We are using JW player Enterprise on our Adobe Media server to stream HLS M3U8 videos. This works great however we are having some questions regarding using closed captions.

How does one insert CC into segmented m3U8 videos? We have our captions available in SCC (CEA-608, manually converted to support 21 lines) , VTT, SRT.

Do the CC files also have to be segmented as well or can they be implemented in some way?

Are you trying to use VTT captions or CEA 608 captions? CEA 608 captions involve injecting the caption data into the H264 SEI messages of the stream. VTT captions are a separate file that you can point to in your player setup: http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1407438-adding-closed-captions
