JW Player crashes IE8 on Windows 7 on page load

I'm seeing some problems with JW Player crashing IE8 on Windows 7. It's fine for all other browsers, including IE8 on XP. I can't figure out what may be different -- it's not within a <p> tag, The !doctype is as expected...

http://www.thelancet.com/ -- see the "Lancet TV" tabs on the right.

In some instances the browser doesn't crash, but takes 2+ minutes to load. Suppressing the video causes the page to load normally.

The error appears to be coming from the Google Tag Manager code in lines 122 and following. Not sure why removing the video makes it behave.

Interesting. Is it possible to remove the google Tag Manager code to see if this resolves the problem? Also, long shot, but would it be possible to upgrade to JW Player 6.11 to see if this also mitigates the problem?

That's interesting. I'll have it tested out.

I've got the GTM code in a placeholder we can suppress:

but it still hangs without the GTM code. I've got it to load as expected by suppressing the JWPlayer code entirely via <script>function jwplayer(){}</script>

I can get it to load pretty much normally by increasing the number of connections IE can make (to greater than 6), which makes me think there's a problem with Flash and its interaction with the browser's connection pool. I'm not sure if that's something that JW Player can account for, though.

Again, is it possible to upgrade this player to 6.11 to see if this fixes things?

Yeah, I'll see about upgrading the player version. Thanks.
