Embedding YouTube live streams

Hi,

YouTube offers nowadays live stream broadcast.
You can search youtube with filter "live" to see the live now broadcasts
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=live&filters=live&lclk=live

Live broadcast has a regular youtube link.
On a site I developed, JW is used to play videos from youtube. We want now to also show sonme live, but when embedding these live broadcast from youtube, only first 15 seconds of the video is being played, and not the whole live show.
Is there a way to fix this?

I use licensed JW ver5.10 on the website http://tv.social.org.il
Plays are with the JS API of JW

Thanks ahead

It works just fine with JW 6.11, using a standard YouTube embed (like this one, for a normal video: http://misterneutron.com/JW6youtube ). The time bar behaves a bit oddly, but that's to be expected, since the total time is unknown - it keep incrementing in chunks. But the video continues playing indefinitely.

Yeah, YouTube Live should work just fine.

Thank you.
Is there a solution for this issue with the JW ver 5.x?
Or do I have to purchase an updated version 6.x and do all the migration needed from 5->6?

Haven’t tried with 5. We aren’t about to solution for a product that has been discontinued since 2012 though.

A few live streams from YouTube work OK with JW5, but most show you only 15 seconds, then stop. I'm not sure what the difference is. But it's pretty clear that the solution is to upgrade to JW6.11. JW Player certainly isn't going to issue patches to an obsolete, unsupported product.
